Chart-topping indie rock crew Vampire Weekend has announced plans for another North American tour leg this year. Over the course of the one-month circuit, the band will hit 11 concert markets in the United States and Canada.

The coast-to-coast jaunt begins August 28 at Malkin Bowl in Vancouver, BC, and ends September 26 at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA. The itinerary includes a September 5 performance at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL, as well as a September 15-17 run at Radio City Music Hall in New York, NY.

In addition to the tour’s opening night in Vancouver, two more Canadian markets are included on the late summer calendar with shows on September 7 at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON, and September 8 at Metropolis Theatre in Montreal, QC.

New event presales begin May 19, with remaining public onsales following on May 21. Face values range from $35 to $40 for most of the recently announced summer dates, according to currently listings on Ticketmaster.com.

Ticket sales began in late winter for the listed New York City and Los Angeles concerts. Only single tickets remain for the band’s three-night stand at Radio City. Larger groups of tickets are still available at the Hollywood Bowl, which has nine price levels ranging from $20 to $85.

Beach House and Dum Dum Girls will provide opening support for most of the tour. Exceptions are the September 8 show, which will feature Beach House and The Very Best, and the September 26 event, which will only feature Dum Dum Girls. More details are available on Vampire Weekend’s official Web site.

Vampire Weekend released its sophomore album, “Contra,” on January 12. In support of the record, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the band has already completed a winter tour of Europe, a spring tour of North America, and a just-ended trek across Australia.

Besides a few scattered international festival dates, the majority of Vampire Weekend’s summer itinerary will be spent touring Europe again before returning to the states and provinces at the end of the season.
