Janet Jackson has finally revealed what ailed her in her eight concert cancellations: bouts of migraine-associated vertigo. The symptoms of vertigo include dizziness and imbalance.

Now with the cat out of the bag in regards to her mystery illness, Jackson plans to resume her first tour in seven years on October 15 at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. The Rock Witchu Tour still has shows booked in Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; New York, NY; and East Rutherford, NJ.

“She’s a world-class entertainer and needs to be at the top of her game to give her fans the show they expect,” Jackson’s manager, Kenneth Crear, said in a statement. “She’s feeling much better and is ready to hit the road again to finish the tour.”

Due to her illness, the pop singer was forced to postpone or cancel concerts in Montreal, QC; Boston, MA; Philadelphia, PA; Greensboro, NC; Atlanta, GA; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Uncasville, CT; and Verona, NY. Rescheduled dates have not been released yet.

TFL and ATBS for ticketing professionals

Why Live Nation, the tour’s promoter, just did not postpone the entire tour remains a question. There have been unconfirmed rumors that ticket sales were soft, but if that was the case, the shows would have been downsized to smaller capacity venues. Also, speculation that Jackson might join the likes of Madonna, Shakira and Jay-Z at Live Nation Artists seems unfounded, according to industry sources.
