Coldplay, Jay-Z, NIN at new Pemberton Fest
A new music/camping festival will debut this summer in Canada. The first Pemberton Festival is set for July 25-27 in Pemberton, BC, two hours from Vancouver. Produced and promoted by Live Nation Canada, the festival is modeled after three-day European-style music festivals complete with on-site camping, multiple stages, vendors and concessions. More than 50 acts are scheduled to appear over three days on two stages and a dance tent. A crowd of 40,000 is expected.
Confirmed artists include Coldplay, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Nine Inch Nails, Jay-Z, The Tragically Hip, Interpol, Death Cab For Cutie, My Morning Jacket and Flaming Lips. In addition, up-and-comers Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Grand Ole Party and The Airborne Toxic Event are also scheduled to perform.
Tickets go on sale March 28 with an 8-ticket limit per person. The standard 3-day pass costs $239.50; this does not include a camping ticket. Visit the website for additional information on camping, RV and 3-day VIP tickets.
