Team San Jose has entered into a new partnership with Nederlander Concerts to promote and produce concerts and special events at the historic Civic Auditorium in downtown San Jose, CA. Team San Jose is the manager of the venue. The 3,000-seat venue will be revitalized as a premier downtown entertainment destination with a $13 million renovation.

Some of the key improvements include state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, seating upgrades, more restrooms and a new concessions program. The venue’s production capability will be significantly increased to accommodate the requirements of top touring bands on the road and large scale special events.

Since the venue opened in 1934, Duke Ellington, Buddy Holly, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Bob Dylan, Barbra Streisand, Cream and the Rolling Stones have performed at the Civic. Major sporting events including boxing matches with champions such as Jack Dempsey and Joe Lewis have also graced the venue.

The City of San Jose recently extended its contract with Team San Jose to manage six facilities including the Civic. This extension was based on Team San Jose’s strong results over the last five years in increasing revenue, events and visitors for San Jose.
