Garth Brooks is currently on his stadium tour, and when he hits the Bronco’s Mile High Stadium in Denver this weekend, the city will be flooded with fans for the biggest event in the venue’s history.
City officials are saying that Brook’s show will be the biggest ticketing event ever for the stadium with more than 80,000 people attending. According to CBS Local Denver, officials expect on-site parking at the stadium to be sold out before the day of the concert and encourage concertgoers to either carpool, use public transportation, or ride a bike to the event since there will be free valet bike parking near Gate Four. Additional RTD train cars will be added to the C and E lines, which will begin running at 5 p.m. until the stadium is cleared out after the show.
Brooks’ shows have caused traffic trouble previously; when he played a show at the University of Florida’s Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, students were stuck maneuvering around campus with blocked roads and full parking lots. Ahead of the event, university officials announced that they would close 16 campus reserved parking areas, upsetting students during finals week who said that his voice was heard throughout the whole campus.
Late last month, the country star played at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field, breaking the venue’s sales record at 72,887 tickets. His ongoing tour is set to span across three years, hitting 10 to 12 stadiums per year. Following the Denver show, Brooks will perform at Eugene, Oregon’s Autzen Stadium, which is already sold out, along with Boise’s Albertsons Stadium for a two-day run in July. Then, he is slated to hit Canada for a show in Regina, Saskatchewan later this year.
