K-pop has become more and more popular over the past few years, and now, another girl group is ready to emerge on the scene. ITZY will make their first-ever showcase tour with stops in the states next year.
The ITZY? ITZY! Premiere Showcase Tour is kicking-off in Jakarta, Indonesia this November, followed by gigs in southeast Asia like Macao, Taipei, Manila, and Singapore before wrapping-up in Thailand’s Bangkok late December. Then, early next year, they’ll head to the states to play in Los Angeles as well as Minneapolis, Houston, and Washington, D.C. The trek will officially close in New York City on January 26. Venues and more information has not been announced at this time.
Members Yeji, Ryu-jin, Lia, Chaeryeong, and Yuna announced the news last week. The group just emerged this year, garnering attention with tracks “Dalla Dalla” and “ICY.” Both videos have racked up hundreds of millions of views on YouTube and have pulled in nearly 20 million streams per song on Spotify.
ITZY is just the latest group to make noise in the K-pop world; the boyband BTS has broken records after selling-out stadiums in the U.S. and BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella. Other artists like DAY6 and NCT-127 have been attracting fans across the world, and it doesn’t look like the K-pop craze is dying down anytime soon.
