Madonna had to cancel another show on her Madame X Tour over the weekend, noting that she’s been “plagued” by injuries.
She was slated to perform the first of 15 shows at the London Palladium on Monday, but after seeing a doctor, she’s been advised to rest for a few days.
“I am deeply sorry that I have to cancel my concert scheduled for Monday, January 27th in London,” she said in a post. “Under doctors guidance I have been told to rest for a few days. As you all know, I have injuries that have plagued me since the beginning of the tour but I must always listen to my body and put my health first. The last thing I want to do is disappoint my fans or compromise the integrity of my show.”
Following a much-needed rest, Madonna is slated to return to the stage on Wednesday, January 29. She noted that everyone who bought tickets should receive a refund via point of purchase and explained that “it hurts me more than you can imagine to have to cancel any shows.”
This is the pop icon’s latest cancellation on her Madame X Tour. The trek was originally supposed to kick-off in mid-September, but had to be pushed back by a few days due to “highly specialized production elements being delayed.” Then, she had to cancel gigs in Boston and New York City due an undisclosed knee injury, followed by a cancellation in Miami due to “indescribable pain.” She was slated to appear in Miami on the final date of her North American leg of the tour, but cancelled just two hours before show time, leaving fans furious.
Madonna will play in London through mid-February, followed by shows in Paris, France at the Le Grand Rex. See the full list of upcoming dates below.
