As the fall season of shows gets up and running, so do the box office numbers. This week the gross ticket sales are reported at $16,471,171, nearly $2 million more than last week’s $14,602,870.

The five new productions that launched previews this past week have a lot to do with the improved numbers. They are “Time Stands Still” at the Cort with Opening Night scheduled for October 7; “A Life in the Theatre” at the Schoenfeld, Oct. 12; “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” at the Jacobs, Oct. 12; “La Bete” at the Music Box, Oct. 14; and “Lombardi” at the Circle in the Square, Oct. 21.

Looking at the season to date figures, currently the gross is $342,761,523 compared to last season at the same point of $340,665,942.

In the million-dollar circle this past week were “Wicked” at the Gershwin, “The Lion King” at the Minskoff, “Jersey Boys” at the August Wilson and “Billy Elliot” at the Imperial.
