Blues rock trio ZZ Top is making the best of Aerosmith’s unexpected tour cancellations. The veteran musicians have announced that they’ll stay on the road with their own headline tour of the U.S., beginning immediately. More than a dozen dates are lined up for the run, which continues through September.
This year’s festival may have just ended but tickets for Lollapalooza 2010 are already selling quickly. With major promotional discounts on three-day ducats, the Chicago-based destination festival is announcing ticket sell-outs already for the August 2010 season. Christian pop-punk group Relient K has a new headline tour planned for the future, albeit not as far in advance as 2010. Acclaimed folk rock band Blitzen Trapper is also set to hit the U.S. tour trail for late September and October. Finally, fans of Depeche Mode hopefully won’t have to worry about any more postponements or cancellations for a while; the group is back on the road after axing two dates in California.

Collective Soul has added more dates to the end of its latest 2009 North American tour leg. The rock crew’s outing was originally booked through September 16 at The Moore Theater in Seattle, WA. However, after a new September 26 appearance at Big Spring Jam in Huntsville, AL, Collective Soul will head on to the Canadian provinces for ten more gigs. The recently confirmed dates are lined up from October 7 at Club Soda in Montreal, QC, through October 23 at Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC. Intermediate stops include October 12 at Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg, MB, and October 19 at Flames Central in Calgary, AB.
Ray LaMontagne has added three new dates to his fall 2009 itinerary. His latest concerts are lined up for November 11 at Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI; November 5 at Beacon Theatre in New York, NY; and November 18 at Ellie Caulkin Opera House in Denver, CO. Presales for the new dates begin August 19, August 25 and August 26, respectively. The tour begins November 1 at Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA, and ends November 20-21 at Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Two mid-October dates will find the musician in Maryland for special performances with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
…And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead has confirmed its latest venture on the road, which will be a 30-date headline tour of North America. The outing begins September 12 at Warehouse Live in Houston, TX, and ends October 23 at the Conservatory in Oklahoma City, OK. Highlights of the trek include dates on September 14 at Masquerade in Atlanta, GA; September 19 at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY; September 25 at Logan Square in Chicago, IL; October 11 at Independent in San Francisco, CA; October 14 at The Venue in Vancouver, BC; and October 20 at Bluebird Theater in Denver, CO.
Shooter Jennings will headline a slate of concerts this fall with J.J. Grey & Mofro. The 17-date outing begins September 24 at The Ritz in Tampa, FL, and leaves off with an appearance on November 1 at Voodoo Experience in New Orleans, LA. The touring partners will stick together for concerts on September 26 at Maverick’s in Jacksonville, FL; October 2 at The Vogue in Indianapolis, IN; October 10 at Music Farm in Charlestown, SC; and October 31 at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, TN.
Rodrigo Y Gabriela have confirmed plans for a fall international tour, which includes 14 concerts in the United States. The national venture kicks off September 16 at terminal 5 in New York, NY, and wraps October 24 at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD.
