Katy Perry is an American vocalist who quickly rose to international fame in 2008 with her breakthrough single “I Kissed a Girl,” off her major label debut “One of the Boys.” The effort debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 driven by the single’s virus success, despite mostly mediocre critical reviews. To support the record, Perry launched her debut Hello Katy Tour in early 2009, with multiple North American and European tour legs scheduled through the year, as well as separate Asia-Pacific visits to Japan and Australia. So far, most of her tour dates have been booked for medium to large clubs and theaters, where she has often sold out the venue or been close to a sell-out. During the summer of 2008, Perry also performed at several larger arena-style venues as a part of several radio-hosted summer concert series.
