Sara Bareilles is an American pop musician and part of the nation’s recent movement of female singer-songwriters. She is best known as a pianist, though she also plays guitar. Bareilles released her debut “Careful Confessions” in 2004, but didn’t break onto the mainstream charts until releasing her major label debut, 2007’s “Little Voice.” With her success largely driven by the smash hit single “Love Song,” the record debuted at No. 45 on the Billboard 200, eventually climbing to the No. 7 slot. Bareilles has toured the U.S. several times, usually supported by similar singer-songwriters and visiting small- to medium-sized clubs and theaters.
