Born on April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas, Kelly Clarkson has made it big as an American pop singer and songwriter. Her fame began in 2002 when she won the first season of the popular television series, “American Idol”. Since then she has released four top albums, “Thankful” (2003), “Breakaway” (2004), “My December” (2007), and her most recent album “All I Ever Wanted” (2009), and has in total sold over 10.2 million copies in the United States alone.
Out of Clarkson’s singles, eight became top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100. In its first week of release, “My Life Would Suck Without You” broke the record for the biggest jump to the top position in chart history, going from number 97 to number 1. Along with singing and songwriting, Kelly Clarkson has done some occasional acting, holding the lead role in the movie “From Justin to Kelly” in 2003 and playing the role of Brenda Lee in the television series American Dreams.
