For the second consecutive week, Broadway box offices reported increased ticket sales with totals reaching $22,679,495 for the week ending June 19. The total is more than $1 million more than the previous week's total of $21,540,623. The season's total revenue to date is $64,818,897, down slightly from the same period last year of $65,019,763.

With the closing on Sunday of the productions of "Arcadia" and "The People in the Picture," there are now 32 shows on Broadway. Six of those productions reported box office receipts in excess of $1 million. In order, they are "Wicked" at the Gershwin leading at $1,775,427, "The Lion King" at the Minskoff, $1,734,459, "Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark" at the Foxwoods, $1,270,862, "The Book of Mormon" at the Eugene O'Neill, $1,193,763, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" at the Al Hirschfeld, $1,138,153 and "Jersey Boys" at the August Wilson, $1,034,856.

The play "Master Class," a limited engagement of the play by Terrence McNally about Maria Callas played by Tyne Daly, opened on June 14 to previews at the Friedman. With the second smallest number of seats, 650, it reported the lowest return at the box office, $179,263.

There are currently 11 plays on Broadway with the launching of "Master Class." "War Horse" at the Beaumont still leads ticket sales at $948,563, trailed by "The Motherf**ker With the Hat" at the Broadway at $707,750.

Attendance increased to 82.83 percent from 79.72 percent last week. Nine shows reported 95 percent or more capacity. Six shows reported 100 percent or better, up from four the previous reporting period. They were the musical "The Book of Mormon" at 102.43 percent, followed by "Anything Goes" at the Stephen Sondheim, "How to Succeed in Business," "Spider-man," "War Horse" and "Wicked." "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo" playing at the Richard Rodgers once again reported the lowest percentage of capacity at 44.54 percent with less than 2 weeks remaining before closing its doors on July 3.

Comparing performance in the Gross Gross Potential category, three shows achieved 95 percent or better with "Wicked" reporting 113.34 percent, "The Lion King" 102.61 percent and "The Book of Mormon" reporting 100.45 percent. Reporting the lowest figure was "Born Yesterday" at the Cort, 22.86 percent.

Four shows posted tickets with face values at or exceeding $300, down from a steady five for many weeks past. "Jersey Boys" still leads at $350. "Arcadia" at the Marquis and "The People in the Picture" in their closing week tied for the best bargain-priced average ticket at $47.
